During a recession, if you think it is difficult creating success as a business owner, imagine being Deaf! Do you envision obstacles and barriers? Mr. Pablo Felix became the first Deaf Executive Director in Pre-Paid Legal history! He realized the only barriers to success were imposed by others. Success was not dependent upon whether or not he could hear.

Prior to Pre-Paid Legal, he worked for a corporation that refused to give him the opportunity for advancement; they felt he lacked the necessary communication skills.  Now, Mr. Felix is viewed as a servant leader to the Deaf. Pre-Paid Legal does not consider him to be ‘lacking’ in communication skills. He is afforded the same opportunities for success as all other associates.

“When I saw the services, I realized that Deaf people across the country could have access to their rights instead of being taken advantage of and facing constant oppression. Having retired from middle management in Wal-Mart, Mr. Felix is now able to travel the country assisting others. Pablo and his wife, Christina, have the time freedom to set their own schedule around their daughters, Jessica, Lindsey, Skylar and Melissa. As an Interpreter for the Deaf, Pre-Paid has given Christina the chance to spend more time with her family in a week than she often had in a month.

Before Pre-Paid, I was making great money in the life and health insurance industry.  I had even achieved the Million Dollar Round Table status, but I was working 50 hours or more a week and spent little time with my family – my wife, Candy; our children, Jennifer, Sierra, Jordan and Lincoln; and our granddaughter, Jayden.

I was introduced to Pre-Paid Legal by my wife’s uncle who wanted to talk to us about the opportunity.  He came to Tulsa and showed me a DVD at 2 a.m., and I signed up by        3 a.m.  I now have more time with my family.  I travel more, and I can work with people on my team who are working toward a common goal.  I don’t have to conform to Corporate America or build someone else’s dream.

I was convinced of this opportunity when I saw I could build a team anywhere and help others do the same.  I also saw I could help my team create the lifestyle most people only dream of, and in turn, it helps me reach my goals.

The best thing about Pre-Paid Legal is building a business with a team, earning the income we all deserve, and having the opportunity to work for ourselves.

Pre-Paid Legal has given us the opportunity to leverage our time and finances and help others do the same.  It has given us the opportunity to meet and learn from the most successful people in Pre-Paid Legal.

My greatest accomplishments last year were building new Associate legs, helping them reach their potential, and spending time with the top leaders at local and corporate sponsored events.

This year, I want to earn the six-figure ring and produce additional ring earners in my organization as well as produce many Executive Directors and attain the Platinum Executive Director level.

Prior to Pre-Paid Legal I was working 14 hour days, 6 days a week as a Senior Underwriter for Ameriquest Mortgage.  I was commuting two and a half hours a day on the nasty 91 fwy.  We had great income; everything was going well, besides the fact that I never saw my beautiful wife or my daughter Belle.  On a Monday morning we were all called in for an emergency conference call, little did we know what was about to happen, within 2 minutes, 20,000 of us got laid off!  Having an employee mindset and never saving a dime, within a short period of time we found ourselves hitting rock bottom, completely broke, and about to loose everything.  One Saturday afternoon we were at a pool party, my daughter was swimming out back, my mother-in-laws friend said “Branden and Emilee, I’m working on a business project, it may or may not be for you, but will you at least support me and give me your opinion”, she then proceeded to hit, POWER, PLAY.  We got started, attended our team event and sold out to the 1 briefing a week, 1 training a week, 2 exposures a day, and eleven months later we achieved the position of Executive Director.

We are now able to bless others with our incredible opportunity not only to change their lives but to give them equal access to the justice system.

Thanks to God, Harland & Shirley Stonecipher, we now see a light at the end of the tunnel.  Because of this amazing opportunity, I am able to work this business with my wife, be full time stay at home parents and spend quality time with our daughter. We were able to purchase our first custom home on five acres in Southern California and fulfill Emilee’s childhood dream of owning horses.

We owe all of our success to the 1TEAM, 1DREAM organization which is comprised of our family and friends.

We own two family businesses, Cash for Gold Jewelers and a small real estate investment business. We worked Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and had no retirement program. That’s why we started our real estate business, but three years ago, we realized that it might not be enough. We had no residual income. Now we do!

In the summer of 2004, I got a speeding ticket going to San Antonio. I was given a CD by someone from Florida who said he received eight tickets in five states but no increase in his insurance rates. I listened to the CD several times and called him 10 times, but he never called me back. Then in December 2005, a good friend came by offering Pre-Paid Legal, so I signed up for the product. I did not want to sell this, but when he told me the cost, I said why not. I have lost more than that on bad dinners and nights out with my family. I thought I would help three to five people protect themselves. The first five people I spoke to – a car dealer, a minister, a restaurant owner, a computer genius and a pharmacist – all said yes.

We love our team, and all the great Associates and leaders in Pre-Paid Legal. We’re also grateful to the Home Office staff. Pre-Paid Legal has given us three paid vacations. We had never been on our own vacation since we had our children – Kanahaiya, Kundalini and Kuline. We also just went on a team cruise to Baja, Mexico.

We love watching our team grow through personal development, having one of our Associates reach the Executive Director level, and of course being in the Profiles of Success. This year, we will earn our 100,000 income ring and reach the Gold or Platinum Executive Director level. God bless our founders, Mr. and Mrs. Harland Stonecipher.
